Latest Release
February 12, 2025

New and updated cases

  • 4 new Flow diversion cases with more complex and challenging aneurysms to allow for more advanced training
  • Added full guidance for one AIS case, to learn the basic steps and to allow for unproctored training
  • 2 new larger and more complex AVMs to allow for more advanced training, handling multiple feeders and reflux
  • Updated and refined anatomies, including adding ophthalmic arteries where previously missing, to improve the fidelity of the challenges presented during cerebral navigation

New features and improvements

  • Ready for case rehearsal of flow diversion cases planned using Ankyras validated planning platform
  • A completely new and more realistic model for flow diverters enabling flow diversion in more complex and challenging anatomies, improving thefidelity of the training
  • Foreshortening based on Ankyras’ validated algorithm to align training with planning and to better understand the complexity of flow diverters
  • Increased visibility of embolic agent for increased realism and better training
  • Updated portfolio of intracranial stents to better represent the real devices used
  • New look and feel to improve usability
  • Automatic calibration for measurements and possibility to zoom when roadmaps are used to better align with the features found in the angio suite
  • Switched position of frontal and lateral planes to align with the most common setup in the angio suite
  • High-resolution forces on latest generation of G7 for improved realism and for the operator to better appreciate and understand the nuances of the friction forces during neuro intervention
  • Ready for automatic updates to speed-up and facilitate more frequent updates of the solution, to always be updated with the latest version
  • Onlinebug and feedback reporting available

This learning module is designed for:
Interventional Neuroradiologists - residents, fellows and procoring interventionalists

NV Connect training cases are designed to learn skills essential to cerebral interventional procedures. The module facilitates technical, procedural, and cognitive training and discussions in a risk-free environment for these delicate procedures.

The training cases offer the opportunity to train on a range of neuro-interventional procedures, from the carotid artery and intracranial stenting to thrombectomy and aneurysm treatments (using flow diversion and coiling).

All cases provide all trainees—from beginners to advanced operators—with a risk-free opportunity to perfect both basic navigation skills and procedure-related specific skills and prepare well for the real intervention. NV Connect also allows trainers to set specific training targets, depending on the audience, by setting up benchmarks for each case or using the predefined benchmarks that come with the cases.

The ICAD cases teach specific skills for treating carotid artery stenosis. They focus on the basic steps of assessing the location and severity of the stenosis, choosing the proper material, performing aortic access in various arches, performing angioplasty and stenting, and properly using embolice protection devices.
